Lil ( Shawn Jr. ) got sent home from work for getting his hair cut. He works at the AMC Hoffman Movie theater in Alexandria. The manager "Oscar Remirez" told Shawn that his haircut was too extreme. Personally, we don't see anything wrong with Shawn's haircut so I called the corporate office for AMC to see what they would have to say. I spoke to someone who basically said he didn't see any reason why the type of haircut Shawn has would get him sent home. He advised that he'd be in touch while he investigated but in the meantime Shawn should be able to go back to work. Shawn tried to go to work the next two days and got sent home both days. The manager "Oscar" said that he needed to read their "Wardrobe Standards Manual" as this would explain why his haircut was unacceptable. Other than pictures, here is the only paragraph related to mens hair:
Men's hair is to be cut away from the eyes; length may not exceed 1/4" below the top of the collar. Ponytails and/or buns are not acceptable for men. Conservative braided hairstyles without beads or ornamentation are acceptable, provided they are not distracting to the guest.
We're in the process of fighting this, but I thought I'd post to see what everyone else thinks.
